FAQ

  • Abstracts selection

    The selection and sorting were performed by the Scientific Committee of the Congress and the Conveners of the Provisional Sessions. Then all the authors were informed by May 12th, 2016 of the acceptance of their abstract either as an oral (Plenary Session Oral Presentation, PSOP), a flash oral (Plenary Flash Oral Presentation, PSOP) or a poster (e-poster).

    In case you didn’t receive an answer, please contact asap organizing@60iah2016.org (see also “Acceptance of abstracts”).

    Of course, there was a "competition" (more requests for oral presentations than available slots). The Scientific Committee tried to offer an oral presentation to as much different authors as possible. Thus it reduced the acceptance to a maximum of 2 orals by participant and if possible only one.

    In case of “no registration” of an author of an oral (PSOP or PFOP) before June 15th, the oral (PSOP or PFOP) will be affected to another author on the “waiting list”. The chair of the Scientific Committee will then contact this other author:

    - either the author of a PFOP to propose him/her a PSOP,

    - or the author of an e-poster to propose him/her a PFOP, or even a PSOP.

  • Acceptance of abstracts

    Letters of acceptation were sent by email on May 12th, 2016. (sender: alexandra.boband@eventime-group.com). Please check in your email reception box in case of no receipt.

    Another email was also systematically sent to all authors and coauthors on June 7th, 2016 to prevent any problem of no reception (sender: l.chery@brgm.fr); please check in your email reception box.

    In case of no reception, please ask for a copy to organizing@60iah2016.org. All accepted abstracts, Plenary Session Oral Presentations, Plenary Flash Oral Presentations and Posters, will be included in the Proceedings of the Congress.

  • B to B meetings

    The Organizing Committee will organize a dedicated electronic means of communication between e-poster authors and congress participants who are interested in discussing directly directly with poster authors, which will allow participants to organize an appointment with poster authors during the Congress (B to B meetings). See also: “Presentations: what are the different types?”

  • Dead line submission eposter and slides

    Deadline for submission is 16th September

  • E-Poster Presentation

    Posters will only be as e-posters. No paper posters will be allowed.

    To avoid the problems that occurred during the first e-poster experience in Roma last year, in Montpellier the e-poster sessions will be different:

    • the e-posters will be displayed on large screens (similar to a paper poster), but in landscape format about 132 x 75 in size;
    • the screens will be in different places of the Congress exhibition room (near the coffee break, near the registration desk, etc.) in order to avoid any "interference" between the different poster sessions. Consequently, the authors will have the opportunity to present their poster without being troubled by the next e-poster’s presentation;
    • the Congress will also provide a dedicated electronic means of communication to organize special appointments between poster authors and interested participants (“B to B meetings”). The technical means to organize these appointments will be communicated to the participants at least during Congress registration.

    Technical instructions for e-posters are available on: http://www.60iah2016.org/en/programme/e-poster.

    The scientific committee offered the opportunity to some e-Posters authors to present their research as a Plenary Flash Oral Presentation. See: “Presentations: what are the different types?”

  • Eposter submission: how and when?
  • Extended abstract

    All accepted abstracts, Plenary Session Oral Presentations, Plenary Flash Oral Presentations and Posters, will be included in the Proceedings of the Congress. No extended abstract nor full paper is requested.

  • Field trips

    The Congress field trips (FT) will be held on Thursday  (September 29th, 2016) and are included in the registration fees, with the full pass. The departure is scheduled at 8:00 am, returning to Montpellier at 6:00 pm (lunch included). We will care for the punctuality of the return time; clear directives will be given to the guides and drivers to garantee the schedule. However, delays due to traffic jams or any other incident cannot be totally excluded and participants must take that parameter into account. There are 10 field trips.

  • Presentations: what are the different types?
    1. Parallel Sessions Oral Presentation
      The speaking author will present his/her research during 12 minutes + 3 additional minutes of questions (only in English). This oral communication will be integrated into a specific session among the 35 identified sessions (http://www.60iah2016.org/en/programme/main-topics-and-provisional-sessions). An author cannot present a Plenary Flash Oral Presentation without presenting an e-poster.

    3. Poster presentation (e-poster)
      Posters will only be as e-posters. No paper posters will be allowed.

      To avoid the problems that occurred during the first e-poster experience in Roma last year, in Montpellier the e-poster sessions will be different:

      - the e-posters will be displayed on large screens (similar to a paper poster), but in landscape format about 132x 75 cm in size;

    The scientific committee offered the opportunity to some e-Posters authors to present their research as a Plenary Flash Oral Presentation. See: “Presentations: what are the different types?”

  • Proceedings of the Congress

    All accepted abstracts, Plenary Session Oral Presentations, Plenary Flash Oral Presentations and Posters, will be included in the Proceedings of the Congress. No extended abstract nor full paper is requested.

    Although the acceptance or rejection of any paper is independent from the registration to the congress, only the abstracts of the authors (or at least one co-author) who registered and payd their registration will be integrated in the Congress proceedings.

    No extended abstract nor full paper is required. Specific publications may arise from some sessions after the Congress.

  • Registration and payment

    You have the possibility to register with an individual registration or a group one (for many registrations in the same organism). The website has provided an invoice (click the choice) and you can also ask for one. The payment is available with credit card, bank transfer.

  • Slides submission: how and when?
  • Topic/session: in which topic/session my abstract has been included?

    Definitive sessions will be published in the second circular in July. In fact, some provisional sessions may be merged. Authors will thus be informed of the session their oral/Flash/poster is affected to. The Congress program will also be available on the Congress website.

    However as some sessions can be split in 2 or 3 different time periods in different rooms, speaking authors will know their exact speaking schedule only with the third circular at the end of August (exact schedule and room for oral – PSOP - or exact schedule for e-posters Flash oral – PFOP -). The Congress program will also be available on the Congress website.

  • Type of registration (2 days or full pass)

    Details of the program and schedule will be communicated in August. Before this date, it is difficult to give you an answer for the day of your session. Each participant can register only for two days and later extend it to full pass if needed, with the early bird price if the first registration was performed at early bird rate.

  • Uploading e-poster and slides

    The dead line for e-poster and presentation (PSOP, PFOP) slides uploading on the website is 16th September.

    You can find the instructions for posters on: http://www.60iah2016.org/en/programme/e-poster
